So the Edmonton Oilers are eight points out of a playoff spot on Nov. 28 with what 62 games to play. And everyone is moaning and crying we’re not going to make the playoffs. Wow! Worst fans in professional sports!

(Sure, there’s a chance, but it means we have to have a better record than all of the teams between us and eighth place in those 62 games.)

Kudos to Smith

All Albertans should rightfully be proud of our premier and provincial government for standing up to the destructive energy agenda from the federal Liberal party and their NDP enablers. Only lies come out of the mouths of Liberal MPs, and their only agenda is power and profits for wealthy party insiders. The only Albertans who are not now supporters of Premier Smith are either ignorant, ungrateful, or corrupt.

(Not supporting the government does not automatically make one corrupt.)

What a town

I was trundling home westbound down the hill of 98 Avenue, of course always wary of the radar trap where the posted speed limit changes from 60 to 50 at the base of the hill. The perfect fishing hole was unmanned, so my relieved attention was quickly directed to the freshly commissioned LRT car crossing the famous Accidental Beach Bridge. Car, as in one, as in singular. After all the heartache, turmoil, derision, ridicule, expense, and embarrassment, the demand of ridership was one – ONE – car. Nevertheless, I of course had to get to my west-end home because that’s where I live and pay my municipal taxes from. The trip so well known to me by now included the delays by orange barriers, torn up streets, single lane diversions that don’t get better but ask for new turns depending on the week. All this a harbinger of the next LRT needing one – ONE – car to Lewis Estates and back. I turned off into the alley practically home to see that the homeless guy, who had been living under a spruce tree since July in spite of my many reports to 311 and Andrew Knack, was the new owner of a Toro lawnmower. It was sitting next to the two baby carriages filled with “items” sitting over top of empty containers and other unidentifiable garbage. I was so happy to get home. Edmonton used to be a pretty cool city.

(Well, it’s not just one car on the entire line at one time.)
