Billie Eilish Reveals She's “Attracted” to and “Intimidated” by Women

14 Nov 2023

Billie Eilish pretty much perfectly explained the sensation otherwise known as ✨bi panic✨ in her latest interview with Variety. For the publication's "The Power of Women" issue, Billie revealed that she's "attracted" to women, yet "intimidated" by their "beauty" and "presence" (honestly... same). The Grammy winner also opened up about her own experience with womanhood after years of speculation surrounding her sexuality and identity.

"I've never felt like a woman, to be honest with you. I've never felt desirable. I've never felt feminine," Billie said as she explained her preference for wearing baggy silhouettes over the years. "I have to convince myself that I'm, like, a pretty girl." The "What Was I Made For?" singer also clarified that she uses she/her pronouns, but that she has "never really felt like a girl" or related to other women "very well."

Despite grappling with complicated feelings surrounding her own womanhood, Billie revealed that she finds other women attractive. "I love them so much. I love them as people. I'm attracted to them as people. I'm attracted to them for real," she explained. "I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I'm physically attracted to them. But I'm also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence."

Billie has addressed speculation about her sexuality earlier in her career, noting the double standard in a 2021 interview with Elle. "Like, oh yeah, that's everyone else's business, right? No. Where's that energy with men?" she said at the time. "I just wanted to make a song once, and then I kept making songs. I never said, 'Hey, pay attention to my life.'"

She ???? said ???? what ???? she ???? said! ????
