Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says it looks like the Essex County area got the worst of yesterday's storm.

OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has not received any damage reports from people living in Oxford following the most recent tornado warning.

Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says there is no evidence to confirm or deny that there actually was a tornado at this time.

"The tornado warnings that were issued yesterday were mainly based off of what the forecasters were seeing on radar. The storms that were going through had some rotation indicated, and that is what triggered the tornado warnings."

He says a marine tornado warning was also issued yesterday.

"The storms were moving across portions of Lake Erie as well, so a tornado warning was issued for the lake itself to advise any mariners on the water to get to shore as quickly as possible."

Flisfeder says it looks like the Essex County area got the worst of it.

"Most of the damage that we have seen from the storms yesterday is really more isolated to far southwestern Ontario, not so much in the Woodstock area. This includes areas like Harrow and Kingsville."
