Manitobans are in for some significant snowfall as a strong low pressure system rolls into the province Sunday morning.

The system is expected to bring between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow to southern Manitoba, including the city of Winnipeg. 

Mild temperatures will keep blowing snow to a minimum during the morning.  However, as the day progresses moderate snowfall rates combined with strong winds will create poor visibility Sunday night through Monday morning. 

The snow will taper off overnight Sunday as the system rolls out of the province.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected .

Meanwhile, a freezing rain warning has been issued for a small portion of south western Manitoba.

A winter storm will bring a wintery mix of snow, freezing rain, and rain to the following areas.

Mun. of Boissevain-Morton incl. Turtle Mtn Prov. Park  Mun. of Brenda-Waskada incl. Medora and Goodlands Mun. of Deloraine-Winchester Mun. of Grassland incl. Hartney and Minto Mun. of Two Borders incl. Melita Coulter and Tilston

Freezing rain will begin overnight Saturday and last into Sunday morning.

Other parts of the province are under a winter storm warning.

A winter storm will bring a wintery mix of snow, freezing rain, and rain to western and south western Manitoba beginning overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.
