The 32-year-old Nigerian singer paused his performance to observe a moment of silence in honor of the late Punjabi rapper and singer.

Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified attackers in the Punjabi village of Jawharke on May 29, 2022.

Addressing the Canadian audience, Burna Boy remarked, “This is where Sidhu Moose Wala lived.” Despite being raised in India, Moose Wala gained significant renown in Punjabi music while residing in Brampton, Ontario, catalyzing the success of numerous Punjabi-Canadian artists thriving today.

Burna Boy then called out, “Where are my Punjabi people at?” before requesting a minute of silence for Sidhu, paying tribute to the legendary artist.

Following the moment of reflection, Burna Boy launched into “Mera Na,” the track featuring Sidhu Moose Wala, Burna Boy, and Steel Banglez, which was released posthumously in 2023.

Despite his passing in 2022, Moose Wala’s music continues to dominate music charts in India and globally.

Presently, the late singer’s posthumous track “Drippy” is making waves, appearing on Spotify India’s top 50 chart as well as the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
