The Honourable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, is sharing his condolences following the passing of writer and broadcaster Rex Murphy.

In his roles as national talk show host, broadcaster and newspaper columnist, Rex was a fierce advocate for his home province.
His reporting following the 1992 cod moratorium brought the scale of the economic effect on Newfoundland and Labrador and the human impact on the people of the province to viewers across the country.”
