WNBA Star Kelsey Plum Gets Signature Cigar

15 May 2024

Kingmakers Cigars is creating a new signature cigar for Kelsey Plum, an All-Star guard for the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA. Plum has garnered attention in recent years for lighting up cigars during the Aces’ two WNBA championship celebrations, and could now be lighting up her own cigar should the Aces win their third championship this season.

The Kelsey Plum Signature Cigar is a 6 x 52 toro that uses a Connecticut wrapper of undisclosed origins over an undisclosed binder and filler. The company says the blend offers an aroma of toasted nuts, particularly almonds, with subtle hints of sweetness and cream, culminating in a bold peppercorn finish. It calls the cigar “a celebration of finesse and focus, offering a refined experience that lingers long after the final puff.”

The cigars come dressed in bands that feature Plum’s logo, which also appears on a pair of cigar-themed shoes dubbed “All the Smoke” that were created by Under Armour for Plum to wear during the Aces’ opening night game on Tuesday.

While the cigars are slated to be released on June 10, they are currently available for pre-order on Kingmakers Cigars’ website. Pricing is set at $175 for a box of 10 cigars.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
