Khloe Kardashian’s battle with a ‘deadly’ melanoma will be a main storyline in the new series of The Kardashians.

The third series of the Hulu reality show drops on May 25, and in a new trailer, fans got a glimpse of what to expect - including the 38-year-old’s brush with cancer.

Mum-of-two Khloe, who wears a huge bandage on her face, admits, ‘melanoma is deadly. This is way more serious than I anticipated it to be.’

In the clip, which premiered yesterday, Khloe’s mum Kris Jenner comments, ‘this, on her face, is very concerning’, while her younger sister Kendall reveals that she’s noticed she is barely sleeping and has lost a lot of weight.

A shocking image of her post-surgery scar also features. Located in the middle of her left cheek, it’s around 4cm long and has at least 12 stitches.

Melanoma is regarded as the most deadly form of skin cancer, and is most often caused by UV rays from sunbeds and the sun. They often resemble moles, or can develop from existing moles.

In October 2022, Khloe revealed that she had been diagnosed with a melanoma after going to see her dermatologist about a ‘zit’.

She posted on Instagram: ‘After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied, seven months after realising it was not budging.’

When the results came in she was advised to have an ‘immediate operation’ to remove the tumour, and she turned to top LA plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fischer.

She added: ‘I’m grateful to share that Dr Fischer was able to get everything - all my margins appear clear and now we are on to the healing process. So, here we are... you'll continue to see my bandages and when I'm allowed, you'll probably see a scar (and an indention in my cheek from the tumour being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I'm making these face bandages look.

‘I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell the story with.’

It wasn’t Khloe’s first brush with skin cancer, having had a similar procedure almost two decades ago.

She said: ‘At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas. Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time.

I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day, religiously, so no one is exempt from these things. Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as your annual check-ups."
