Both goals in the 2024 game came off ferocious forechecking.

“I thought out forecheck got better the second half (of the game),” Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said post-game Sunday. “I didn’t like it early on, I think Nashville did a hell of a job of breaking the puck out on us. We were late (in forechecking) and then we adjusted after the second.”

The two goals were about his team getting on the puck and on the Nashville defence more quickly, he implied.
