Jets at Noon | Conversation with Winnipeg Jets prospect Chaz ...

We last heard from Jets 2021 1st rounder Chaz Lucius at the end of April during the end of season Moose media availability. It was a tough full season as a pro for the Minnesotan who played his last game at the end of December and had season-ending surgery on his ankle back in January which meant he was limited to 17 games where he had two goals and 11 assists for 13 points.

He joined Cam Poitras and Jim Toth today on Jets at Noon at the 15:50 minute mark to talk about his offseason, his love of pickleball, how his ankle is doing, if he’ll be ready for training camp, if his passion for hockey has been impacted by all of the injuries, how the adversity has helped him, what a successful season looks like for him in 2024-25, his contributions last season, how does he ‘get himself right’, the focus the Jets want for him this summer, going from college to pro, if he’s watching the Cup Final and more. The chat ends at the 24:29 minute mark.

Notable:

He indicated he isn’t yet skating but does plan on getting onto the ice next week.

He was asked if he expects to be ready for training camp. Said the recovery time for the surgery, which he had at the end of January, was 6-8 months. “Hopefully by Sept 1 I’m full contact and ready to go for training camp.”
