Vancouver Whitecaps FC lifted the Voyageurs Cup for the third straight year after they beat Toronto FC in the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship Final. Vancouver won the Final 4-2 on penalties after a 0:0 draw at BC Place on Wednesday 25 September. Goalkeeper Isaac Boehmer captured both the George Gross Memorial Trophy as Most Valuable Player as well as the Best Young Canadian Player Award.

Canada Soccer’s Canadian Championship, also known as the Battle of the North, is the nation’s highest men’s domestic competition featuring clubs from coast to coast across the country, notably professional teams in Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League as well as league winners in League1 BC, League1 Ontario and League1 Québec. This past season, 14 clubs took part in the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship from 23 April to 25 September across 19 matches in four rounds.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC reached the 2024 Canadian Final after they eliminated Cavalry FC in the two-leg Quarterfinals and then Pacific FC in the two-leg Semifinals. As the top team in the Canada Soccer Club Ranking Index (2021-2023), Vancouver received a bye from the single-match First Round for 2024.

For the 2024 Canadian Final, Vancouver’s lineup featured Isaac Boehmer in goal, Mathias Laborda, Ranko Veselinović and Bjørn Utvik along the backline, and Pedro Vite, Andrés Cubas, Samuel Adekugbe, Ali Ahmed Ryan Gauld, Brian White and Fafà Picault from the midfield up through to the attack. Ryan Raposo, Alessandro Schöpf, Sebastian Berhalter and Stuart Armstrong all featured as substitutes while Yohei Takaoka, Tristan Blackmon and Levonte Johnson were dressed but did not feature.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC are now four-time Canadian Championship winners since 2008, having previously won the title in 2015, 2022 and 2023. They are the second team to lift the Voyageurs Cup in three successive years after Toronto FC (four years from 2009 to 2012).
