Monday, July 1, is Canada Day, a public holiday in Prince Edward Island. Here's how this might affect the hours of some services and businesses across the Island.

Monday, July 1, is Canada Day, a public holiday in Prince Edward Island.

Here's how this might affect the hours of some services and businesses across the Island: 

All provincial government offices, including Access P.E.I., will be closed. All municipal government offices will be closed. All P.E.I. Public Library branches will be closed. Canada Post will not be delivering mail. Island Waste Management Corporation will not be collecting waste, compost or recycling. The alternate pickup date is Saturday, July 6. T3 Transit will be operating on its normal weekday schedule. UPEI and Holland College, including the McMillan Centre, are closed.

Some retail notes for July 1:

Royalty Crossing mall will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Confederation Court Mall will be closed, but stores with their own outside entrance may be open. The Shoppers Drug Mart will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Shoppers at 403 University Ave. is open from 8 a.m. until midnight, while the one at 675 University Ave. is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Shoppers in Stratford will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Shoppers in Summerside from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. County Fair Mall in Summerside will be closed, but its Lawtons Drugs branch will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Cooper's in Belfast will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brighton Clover Farm in Charlottetown will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Co-Op stores in Tignish, O'Leary, Morell and Souris will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Wellington Co-op will be closed. Kensington Country Store will be closed. Foodland in Charlottetown and Bloomfield will both be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No Frills in Stratford will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Sobeys stores across the Island will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Panda Mart is open from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Atlantic Superstores will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Global Grocery Store in Charlottetown will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Panda Mart in Charlottetown will be open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Top Fresh Market in Charlottetown will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Walmart stores in Charlottetown and Summerside will be open regular hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission stores will be open regular hours. Cannabis P.E.I. stores will be open regular hours. Some Murphy's Pharmacies are closed while others have modified hours.
