Woman killed after being run over on Wayne Gretzky Drive ...

Edmonton police say one person is dead following an overnight pedestrian collision.

EPS says around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a collision between a truck and a pedestrian along Wayne Gretzky Drive near 118 Avenue.

The report indicated a Dodge Ram was traveling north, when it ran over a woman, who was lying in the middle lane of the road.

Police say witnesses attempted to provide medical care, however, the woman was declared dead when paramedics arrived.

EPS notes the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and spoke to police.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.
