We know from our Latin and Hispanic-owned Proudly Unstoppable campaign exactly who jefas are – they’re boss ladies who innovate, take risks and make things happen.

Meet three Latinas – an employee, a customer and a supplier from our supply chain who are making jefa moves – boss moves.

Sarah Matos is a member of Crecer, our employee-led Hispanic and Latino Business Resource Group … and she advocates passionately for inclusion at work.

“As a human resource specialist, I work toward representation across all facets, including diversity of thought and experiences,” said Sarah. “We all bring something valuable to the table and that’s what makes working at UPS such a fulfilling experience – learning from one another through our uniqueness.”

¡Oye! Crecer includes 20 active chapters around the world with over 1,500 members.

With her brand Selva Negra, founder and CEO Kristen Gonzalez plays at the intersection of fashion, sustainability and self-expression … and she ships with UPS.

“My family came to this country and always wanted us to stay true to our cultural identity and maintain pride in where we came from,” Kristen said. “It’s comforting to know that a large company like UPS is making a difference in the lives of small business owners and creating campaigns like ‘Jefa’ to show their support for minority communities.”

Psst! Since launching the Women Exporters Program, we’ve equipped thousands of small business owners like Kristen with the skills to grow and develop their companies’ export capabilities.

Led by CEO Barbara Baldwin-McNulty, Dean Baldwin Painting specializes in aircraft paint services … and her business paints UPS airplanes in our signature brown and gold.

“I was born in Cuba and immigrated to U.S. in 1961. I’ve built Dean Baldwin Painting to 350-400 employees and $35 million in annual revenue,” said Barbara. “I’m proud to work with UPS because the company really does partner with you when they select you. They help you grow and work with you to learn new avenues.”

¿Sabias - Did you know? In 2022 alone, The UPS Foundation invested over $3 million to empower Hispanic communities.
