Police have released images in the hopes of identifying a man wanted in a stabbing on board a TTC subway train that critically injured another man Thursday.

Toronto police said two men got into an argument while travelling on a southbound subway train towards Eglinton station. "The suspect then stabbed the victim multiple times," police alleged in a Thursday night news release in which images were released. "Once the train stopped at Eglinton Subway Station, the suspect fled."

Police were called to the subway station for a stabbing at 12:23 p.m.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is 25 to 30 years old, five-feet 10-inches tall with a thin build and a shaved head. He had no facial hair and was wearing a grey hooded sweater with "GAP" on the front, black pants and black shoes. He was carrying a green backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call 53 Division police at 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
