While Taylor Swift was wrapping up the Eras Tour in Vancouver, Travis Kelce was back in Kansas City proving he still knows how to ball.

The Chiefs star, 35, became the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 12,000 career receiving yards during the team’s 19-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, December 8.

Kelce set the milestone in his 172nd regular season game, besting the mark of former Chiefs player Tony Gonzalez who needed 210 games to achieve the feat.

When Kelce secures his next touchdown, he will pass Gonzalez, 48, for the most receiving touchdowns in Kansas City Chiefs history.

Kelce had five receptions for 45 yards in Sunday’s game, which improved the Chiefs record to 12-1 on the season.

Meanwhile, Kelce’s girlfriend Swift, 34, was playing the final show of her 149-date Eras Tour at BC Place in Vancouver on Sunday night. During the concert, Swift revealed the tour had played to over 10 million people since launching in March 2023.

According to the New York Times, the Eras Tour grossed over $2 billion, the highest-earning tour in music history.

With life on the road in the rearview mirror for now, Swift has the Chiefs’ regular season home stretch to look forward to before the team — who won their ninth consecutive AFC West title on Sunday — enters the playoffs, hoping to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Additionally, a source recently told Us Weekly that Swift plans on hosting Christmas with her and Kelce’s families later this month.

After Sunday’s win, which improved the Chiefs to 12-1 on the season, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes gushed about his respect and admiration for Kelce, who secured a crucial third-down catch on the team’s game-winning drive.

“He means the world to me, man,” Mahomes, 29, told reporters following the game. “Without getting emotional, he’s a guy that has really kind of made me who I am in my career.”

Mahomes continued, “A true leader on the football field. Someone I can just go to at any moment and he’s going to make a big play happen. As he’s done throughout his career, he’s never dropped off as far as his work ethic and the way he leads. I think that’s super important.”

The Chiefs head to Cleveland on Sunday, December 15, to take on the Browns, before returning to Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, December 21, for a showdown against the Houston Texans.
