The Kansas City Chiefs will go into the bye week undefeated at 5-0, starting their three-peat journey with plenty of momentum. The victory over the New Orleans Saints featured many highlights, but one in particular had Patrick Mahomes comparing his daughter to his All-Pro teammate.
After Monday night’s game, Mahomes spoke to the media to explain the unexpected highlight lateral from tight end Travis Kelce.
“I’m shaking my head because I told him before the play, I’m gonna throw it to you so he can get in field goal range, and he underhand shoveled it across the entire field. So it’s like, I’m talking to Sterling (Mahomes’ three-year-old daughter),” said Mahomes. “That’s Travis, man. He’s a special player, and as long as he does it and it works, man, no one’s going to say anything.”
The duo linked up often throughout the night, and Kelce finished with another productive game. After his slow start, his nine catches for 70 yards further silenced the critics who questioned whether the veteran tight end still has an interest in playing the game.
