UPDATE: Tornado warning ends for Niagara region
UPDATE: As of 5:07 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 9, the tornado warning issued for areas of the Niagara region has been ended.
The federal government’s weather alerts site indicates no alerts in effect for Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region.

At 4:23 p.m. on Monday, Sept., 9, Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for areas in the Niagara region calling for damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall.
The storm is reported as being centred around Welland, Niagara Falls and southern Niagara, however, all areas of Niagara should be on alert.
“This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” Environment Canada said in its online update.
The agency is urging people to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
“If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately,” it added.
