UPDATE: 1:28 PM THE TORNADO WATCH FOR EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO HAS BEEN LIFTED – SQUALL AND STRONG WIND WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT.

In addition to a rainfall warning for the Quinte region, Environment Canada has squall and strong wind warnings for the Eastern Lake Ontario area.

Issued 12:45 PM EDT 16 July 2024 Squalls with wind gusts up to 65 knots, frequent lightning, waterspout activity and hail of 3 to 4 centimetres are expected or occurring in the area.

Thunderstorms over Point Petre are tracking east at 40 knots and will continue through afternoon.
