After wrapping up a record-breaking tour, Taylor Swift is moving on to her next milestone. Friday marks the singer’s 35th birthday, and … no one really knows what she’s doing to celebrate. A source told Us Weekly earlier this month that Swift would likely throw a “quaint party with her closest friends” in New York — one of her and Travis Kelce’s favorite date-night cities. If true, that would be pretty similar to her 34th birthday, when she went to the Box with Blake Lively, Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, and Gigi Hadid. One small wrinkle: The Kansas City Chiefs are playing an away game in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday, which means Kelce likely can’t miss practice in the days leading up. But regardless of whether the tight end is physically present for Swift’s day-of celebrations, “Page Six” reports that he has plans to make her birthday “extra special.”
“Travis has only let a few of those closest to him know what he has in store for Taylor because he doesn’t want to ruin any surprises,” a source told the tabloid. “[He] has been shopping for Christmas and birthday gifts for Taylor for quite a while now. [He is] not the type to leave these things to the last minute so he’s been picking up items here and there for the past several months whenever he has a chance.”
Kelce also missed his girlfriend’s birthday last year due to the Chiefs’ schedule, but it sounds as if Papa Kelce is stepping in to pick up the slack. On Thursday’s episode of the Baskin & Phelps podcast, Trav’s dad shared that he’d been brainstorming what to get Swift for the occasion. “Trying to buy Taylor a present is like trying to buy Jason and Travis a present. There’s nothing they want that they don’t already have,” he said. “But get something that twists the strings of her heart that you spent ten bucks on and she’ll just be all gooey. You gotta find something that triggers the emotions.”
Whatever you say, Ed.
