The record will arrive on December 8, just weeks after the Canadian pop musician makes her Saturday Night Live debut

On her “Promiscuous”-coded single “Greedy,” Tate McRae warns potential suitors about letting her attention go to their head — but she never said that she couldn’t be over-indulgent herself. The Canadian pop musician will keep her hot streak going with Think Later, her sophomore album set for release on Dec. 8, just weeks after she’s scheduled to make her Saturday Night Live debut.

“This album means sooo much to me and I can’t believe it’s so close to coming out. Writing this whole thing was one of the most stressful, exciting, nerve racking, and fun things I’ve ever gone through,” McRae wrote on Instagram. “For the first time in my life I lived this year a little less with my head and a little more with my intuition – and I rlly hope u guys can feel that through the music. Through the biggest highs of my life to the lowest of lows – I feel so happy that it is now gonna be yours <3 here’s to 20 years old and figuring [out] who the fuck i am haha.”

Think Later, according to a press release, will explore “the all-too-relatable feelings of falling in love and embracing the raw emotions that you experience as a result of leading with your intuition and heart.” The record will be executive produced by Ryan Tedder, who first collaborated with McRae on “Greedy.”

McRae’s debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, arrived last year, concluding a months-long rollout with four singles casting a wide net of the singer’s evolving creative identity. With Think Later, she seems to have worked out her direction, and she’s hitting the ground running.

Next spring, McRae will embark on a world tour in support of Think Later. The tour will begin on April 17 in Ireland, with its European leg running through May 22. The singer will hit North America on July 5 with an opening show in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta, in Canada. The venue for the show will be announced at a later date. The remainder of her state-side run will include stops at theatres and amphitheaters in Los Angeles, Toronto, Nashville, Houston, Philadelphia, and more.

Editor’s picks

McRae will perform at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden on Aug. 22, with a special guest providing additional support set to be announced in the lead-up to the show. The final leg of the Think Later tour will span seven shows in Australia and New Zealand in November 2024. She will be joined by Charlieonnafriday in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and by Presley Regier in North America.
