Snowfall warning issued for Swift Current
A snowfall warning has come into effect for Swift Current and area.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is predicting light snow throughout today, with tomorrow seeing a storm dropping between 10 and 20 centimetres of snow in Swift Current.
The storm itself is a massive formation, originating in Montana. It will spread from Buffalo Narrows all the way to Estevan, covering most of southern Saskatchewan.
Meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada, Chris Stammers, says the silver lining in this weather event is the wind.
"The nice thing is there's not going to be a ton of wind with this system," clarrified Stammers. "But (...) the snow will certainly be coming down heavy at times, which will affect travel."
Average snowfall amounts are expected to be between 10 and 15 centimetres.
People are encouraged to reconsider highway travel or to check the Highway Hotline before they head out.
