Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors and Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Clippers both suffered fractured left hands on Friday night and will be out indefinitely.

Barnes appeared to break the third metacarpal bone in his left hand late in the second quarter after teammate Immanuel Quickley accidentally kicked it as they attempted to defend a shot by Jonathan Kuminga at the rim in Toronto’s 120-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors at Scotiabank Arena.

Barnes leaped and smacked his right hand on the rim right after the incident, but then immediately grabbed for his left hand and screamed out in clear pain as he landed back on the court.

Toronto is 22-38 and in 12th place in the East.

The No. 4 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-7 Barnes is averaging 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists.

Westbrook appeared to fracture his hand while reaching in to try to poke the ball away from Jordan Poole in the second quarter of the Clippers’ 140-115 win over the Washington Wizards. He left the game with 8:10 remaining after scoring six points.

"Just feel bad for Russ,” Clippers coach Ty Lue said. “You never want to see a player get hurt... We don't know a timetable, don't know if he needs surgery or anything like that."

The nine-time All-Star previously broke his right hand in the second game of the 2014-15 season. He underwent surgery on Nov. 1 and returned to action on Nov. 28, missing 14 games.

The No. 4 pick in 2008, Westbrook, 35, is averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Clippers (38-20), the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.
