Hazmat situation forces road closures near Ontario airport

A “hazmat incident” near the Ontario International Airport forced road closures on Thursday morning, according to authorities.

According to the Ontario Fire Department, the incident occurred on Haven Avenue, which is immediately adjacent to the eastern side of the airport.

The closure was in effect from Milliken Avenue to Haven Avenue, and Jurupa Street to Airport Drive.

Authorities said there would be road delays. It wasn’t immediately clear if operations at the airport would be affected.

The cause of the hazmat situation wasn’t immediately made clear.
