Local 2024 Remembrance Day events in Kawartha Lakes

Kawartha Lakes – On November 11, flags will be lowered to half-mast at City Hall, Municipal Service Centres and Logie Park for Remembrance Day.

This is an important time for our community to express our gratitude to veterans, service members, and their families. We shall never forget their sacrifices and their contributions to our nation's history.

As we approach November 11, we invite residents to participate in these meaningful events to remember and commemorate those who have made sacrifices for our freedom.

Friday November 8

6pm – Remembrance Day dinner at the Omemee Legion (46 King Street East, Omemee).

Saturday November 9

10:30am – Norland Remembrance Day Service, parade starts at 10:40am, please meet in the Hope Unite Church parking lot (7521 Hwy 35) by 10am. Light refreshments will follow at the Pioneer Baptist Church (7553 Hwy 35) after the service.

10:30am – Omemee Legion is hosting a parade to the Cenotaph, followed by Cenotaph Service and wreath placement ceremony. Join them at the Omemee Legion (46 King Street East, Omemee).

Sunday November 10

9am – Cenotaph Service at Burnt River Cemetery (104 Burnt River Road, Kawartha Lakes).

10:30am – Bethany and Pontypool residents welcome to attend the Remembrance Church Service in Millbrook at St. Thomas Anglican Church (Centre Street, Millbrook).

1pm – Remembrance Day service at the Woodville Legion (126 Queen Street, Woodville), service includes a parade, wreath laying and potluck lunch. There will also be a church service at the Woodville Unite Church at 11am.

1pm - Bethany Remembrance Day service at the Bethany Cenotaph located beside the Bethany Library (1474 ON-7A, Bethany)

7pm – Remembrance Day Candle Light Service at the Fenelon Falls Cenotaph (beside Canada Post, 15 Market Street, Fenelon Falls).

Monday November 11

10am – Lindsay parade starting at the Legion (12 York Street North) followed by a ceremony at the Lindsay Cenotaph located at the Lindsay Library (190 Kent Street West).

10:15am – Ceremony at the Cenotaph on Main Street in Kinmount. Light refreshments available at the Kinmount legion afterwards.

10:30am – Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in Bobcaygeon. Please arrive for the ceremony by 10:30am, light refreshments at the Bobcaygeon Legion (96 King Street, Bobcaygeon) following the ceremony.

10:30am – Ceremony at Oakwood Cenotaph (1010 Eldon Rd, Kawartha Lakes).

10:50am – Ceremony at Coboconk Legion (2916 County Road 48, Coboconk), followed by a light luncheon.

11am – Omemee Cenotaph Remembrance Service at the Legion (46 King Street East, Omemee).

11am – Remembrance Day Ceremony at Fenelon Falls Cenotaph (beside Canada Post, 15 Market Street, Fenelon Falls).

11am – Wreath laying ceremony at the Kirkfield Cenotaph.

1pm – Remembrance Day dinner at the Lindsay Legion (12 York Street North). Cost is $20 per ticket, veterans and spouse or caregivers eat free.
