Ravens vs. Texans highlights: Baltimore crushes Houston 31-2 to ...
That’s all for the NFL on Christmas!
The Ravens dominated the Texans in the late, shutting down their offense while Lamar Jackson made MVP-caliber play after MVP-caliber play.
Baltimore is now in first place in the AFC North after today’s win.
The Ravens are punting again, but more importantly for them they took over seven minutes off the clock with their 31-2 lead.
The Texans’ offense us back on the field with 3:23 to go and Davis Mills is in for C.J. Stroud.
Lamar Jackson has been taken out of the game with the Ravens leading 31-2. He’s already signing autographs for fans to give you an idea of how over this game is.
...And the Texans can’t do anything after the Ravens punt, going three-and-out and punting the ball right back.
The Ravens will take over with 10:24 left in the fourth and presumably trying to run out the clock.
The Ravens punted after eight plays. Don’t think they’re sweating it very hard with their 31-2 lead, though.
The Ravens have dominated this game from the jump and they’ll take a big lead into the fourth quarter.
Baltimore has been impressive on both sides of the ball, and Lamar Jackson has made play after play.
The Ravens will have a 1st-and-10 on their own 23 when the fourth begins.
After a sack on third down, C.J. Stroud threw too short of the sticks on 4th-and-7, only picking up six yards.
It needed a replay to be overturned to the right call, but the Texans turned the ball over on downs. Their offense has been pitiful today. Stroud is under 200 yards on 29 attempts and he’s been sacked five times.
The Ravens take over with a 31-2 lead with 2:15 left in the third quarter.
With his four carries for 87 yards today, Lamar Jackson became the NFL’s all-time leading rusher for a quarterback, overtaking Michael Vick.
Jackson is currently ahead of Vick by one yard, with 6,110 career rushing yards.
Only 27, Jackson is in his seventh year with the Ravens.
Lamar Jackson is making an MVP statement today.
After a rushing touchdown on the Ravens’ last drive, Jackson found Mark Andrews from one yard out for his second touchdown pass of the game.
Jackson is now up to 163 yards passing in addition 87 yards rushing and three total touchdowns.
Baltimore is dominating and now leading 31-2.
If you want to rewatch Beyoncé's Christmas halftime show, do it now.
A replay will only be available for a few hours, Variety previously reported. In the U.S., both Christmas games will expire on Netflix three hours after the livestreams end, as per terms of the agreement between Netflix and the NFL.
Meanwhile, outside the U.S., viewers have 24 hours after the livestream ends to catch the games (or performances).
After C.J. Stroud was sacked on second down, he was pressured on 3rd-and-16 and forced to throw well short of the sticks. The Texans punted for the fifth time as their offense continues to struggle.
The Ravens take over on their own 33 leading 24-2.
Wow!
Two plays after Kyle Hamilton’s interception, the Ravens are in the end zone. Lamar Jackson took a designed run 49 yards to the house for a score. Jackson now has 73 yards rushing on only two carries.
Baltimore leads 24-2.
The Texans’ first drive of the second half ends in disaster. On 3rd-and-3, C.J. Stroud threw into double coverage and was intercepted by Kyle Hamilton.
The Ravens will now take over on the Houston 39 with a 17-2 lead.
I’m not sure how the Ravens and Texans will follow up that Beyoncé performance, but they have no choice with the third quarter underway.
C.J. Stroud and Houston are on the field first trailing 17-2.
Beyoncé opened the show by entering NRG Stadium on horseback singing "16 Carriages," dressed in all white with a "Cowboy Carter" sash.
She dismounted in the tunnels of the stadium as she transitioned into her cover of The Beatles' "Blackbird," which was also featured on the album. On the field, she changed outfits and upped the tempo with "Ya-Ya."

Shaboozey and Post Malone made appearances to sing their collaborations with her from the album, "Sweet Honey Buckin" and "Levii's Jeans."
Beyoncé ended the show dancing side-by-side with 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy as she performed her hit single "Texas Hold 'Em."
Beyoncé was joined by several familiar faces during the show, including Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer and Reyna Roberts.
This is Texas and Beyoncé Knowles Carter effortlessly holds our attention.
Beyoncé takes the stage at NRG Stadium, gracing her hometown of Houston with the first performances from her "Coach Carter" country album.
The Ravens dominated the first half, taking a 17-2 lead into the break.
After Baltimore ran all over the Texans in the first quarter, Lamar Jackson made some big plays in the second.
Houston’s only score came via safety as C.J. Stroud has struggled.
And now it’s time for Beyoncé!
The Ravens couldn’t get over midfield on their final drive before halftime, as Lamar Jackson threw incomplete on 3rd-and-10 from his own 48.
Baltimore punted, and the Texans have 21 seconds and three timeouts to maybe try something crazy.
After two straight incomplete throws from C.J. Stroud with only two yards needed for a first down, the Texans punted on 4th-and-2 from the Baltimore 43. Not a sharp game from Stroud so far.
The Ravens are up 17-2 with a chance to add to their lead before halftime.
Beautiful drive by the Ravens, who needed only six plays to go 99 yards for their second touchdown of the game.
Lamar Jackson made all kinds of plays, including a nice scramble-turned-pass to Mark Andrews for a 67-yard gain.
Then Jackson extended a play for several seconds inside the 10 to find Isaiah Likely for a score.
Baltimore now leads 17-2.
The Texans went for it on 4th-and-3 and picked up a first down via a pass interference penalty on Marlon Humphrey.
That was...a tough call. There was minimal contact by Humphrey, and even Netflix rules analyst Gene Steratore (a former ref) disagreed with the flag.
The conversion set up Houston inside the Baltimore 5-yard line.
Wow!
The Ravens escape harm after the Texans converted a 4th-and-3 via penalty to get to the 10-yard line.
After two runs and an incomplete pass, C.J. Stroud threw to Joe Mixon on 4th-and-goal, but Mixon was tackled one yard short of the end zone.
That’s a massive stop by Baltimore, which was on defense after the offense gave up a safety.
The Ravens will now take over on their own 1 hoping to avoid another one.
Whoa!
The Texans’ first points on Christmas come via their defense, as Derrick Henry was tackled in the end zone for a safety. After running for 86 yards on his first 10 carries, Henry has lost eight yards on his last two.
Houston will now get possession of the ball trailing 10-2.
On 3rd-and-2, C.J Stroud couldn’t run away from Odafe Oweh and was sacked for a 13-yard loss, leading to the Texans’ third straight punt. Stroud has now been sacked twice in the first half.
The Ravens take over inside their own 5-yard line after the punt.
After dominating on the ground in the first quarter, the Ravens’ first two runs of the second quarter both went backward. That set up a 3rd-and-20, and Lamar Jackson threw incomplete, setting up a Baltimore punt.
The Texans take over on their own 18 trailing 10-0.
The Ravens lead 10-0 after one quarter, and they’ve been especially dominant on the ground.
Derrick Henry has already carried the ball 10 times for 86 yards, as well as the game’s only touchdown. Overall, Baltimore rushed 13 times for 115 yards in the first quarter.
It will be a long day for the Texans if they can’t slow down the run.
The Texans picked up a first down on the first play of their second drive, but C.J. Stroud threw incomplete on the next three plays, leading to a punt. Stroud missed a wide-open Dalton Schultz on third down on what could have potentially been a big gain.
The Ravens take over their own 23 with a 10-0 lead after a penalty on the punt.
After a nice run stuff by the Texans on second down, Lamar Jackson threw incomplete to Zay Flowers on 3rd-and-9, leading to a Justin Tucker field-goal attempt.
Tucker was good from 52 yards out, giving the Ravens a 10-0 lead with 2:47 left in the first quarter.
On 3rd-and-4 from the Baltimore 48, C.J. Stroud was sacked by Kyle Van Noy, ending the Texans’ first drive after only six plays.
The Ravens take over on their own 30 leading 7-0.
What an opening drive by the Ravens.
Baltimore went 75 yards in eight plays, picking up 51 of those yards on the ground.
Derrick Henry capped the drive with a two-yard touchdown run.
The Ravens lead 7-0.
It's been smooth sailing for Netflix so far. The streaming giant has experienced little to no issues during today's broadcast of both games. Wonder if that'll change with Beyonce's expected halftime performance, coming up in a few hours.
The Ravens received the opening kickoff and their first play from scrimmage was a Derrick Henry run for six yards.
Netflix loves Mariah Carey so much they played her pre-recorded "All I Want for Christmas Is You" performance again before game 2. The segment played after a cappella group Pentatonix performed the National Anthem.
With Pittsburgh losing to the Kansas City Chiefs earlier today, Baltimore could take over first place in the AFC North with a win against Houston. A win today and a win against Cleveland next week will wrap up the division.
The Texans lost 27-19 at the Chiefs in Week 16. They are only 4-5 in the last nine games after starting the season 5-1.
Maybe the addition of a new wide receiver will help? After losing Tank Dell to a knee injury, the Texans claimed Diontae Johnson off waivers after Baltimore released him.
Baltimore has two straight wins since returning from Week 14 Bye and losing to the Eagles in Week 13.
The Ravens clinched a playoff berth with win over Steelers in Week 16. They are outscoring opponents 69-31 during the two-game wining streak (34+ points scored in each win).
Baltimore is looking to win three straight games for the first time since winning five straight from Weeks 3-7.
This is a rematch of last season’s Divisional Round matchup, won by Baltimore 34-10.
Baltimore is 12-2 all-time vs Houston (including playoffs) … but both losses came in Houston.
