The Real Toronto Raptors
Join us for an exciting and educational adventure as we explore the world of the fascinating raptors that call Toronto home.
Participants will enjoy an up-close encounter with some of this area’s native birds of prey, such as hawks, owls, and falcons.
Led by a knowledgeable wildlife expert, this presentation will offer fascinating insights into the lives of these magnificent hunters, their role in the ecosystem, and the conservation efforts that help to protect them.
In addition to the live presentation, embark on a guided hike through Downsview Park – one of Toronto’s premier birdwatching destinations.
As you walk through forests and fields, your guide will help you spot raptors in the wild and understand their behaviours in their natural environment. Learn about the unique adaptations that make these birds such skilled predators, and discover the vital importance of preserving their habitats.
Whether you’re a wilderness lover, a bird watcher, or just looking for a fun and educational outdoor activity, this program offers a rare opportunity to connect with nature and learn about the true raptors of Toronto.

We’ll meet at the Downsview Park Hub, which is located at 70 Canuck Ave, Toronto, Ontario, M3K 2C5. The closest major intersection is Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.
Please dress for the weather, including layered clothing and winter boots. The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests received by TRCA more than 14 days before the start of the program will receive a 75% refund of the relevant program fees paid. Cancellation requests received by TRCA less than 14 days before the start of the program do not qualify for a refund. Minimum registration numbers required for program to operate. In the event TRCA must cancel the program due to low registration or government order, a full refund will be issued.
