A lingering injury for Juraj Slafkovský has forced the third-year winger from the lineup. In his place steps Kirby Dach from the second-line centre position. And filling Dach’s spot is Oliver Kapanen, who receives a promotion from his typical fourth-line duties, though it may be the veteran third line that sees the second-most minutes tonight.
The defence will stay the same to what the Canadiens ran versus the New York Islanders, in what was a fairly solid opening 40 minutes for the Habs and their best performance on the season so far. Everyone will need to be at their best to cope with the absences of Slafkovský and Kaiden Guhle, and we’ll see how the changes to the lines work for Martin St-Louis.
