THIRD PERIOD

11:13: Edmonton's 30th consecutive penalty kill keeps it a two-goal game as we get close to the final 10 minutes of Game 1.

13:13: Perry knocks Lundell down in the corner to set up the Panthers' second power play.

15:20: Bobrovsky goes post-to-post to take away the shot from McDavid after the Panthers committed a turnover late in a shift, setting up Leon Draisaitl to feed it across the slot to the Oilers captain.

20:00: The third period is underway!

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: Edmonton trails 2-0 through 40 minutes, but the Oilers are all over it. They just can't find a way to beat Bob.

7:39: The power play is buzzing, but Bobrovsky is on the case as he continues to keep it out for the Panthers. Edmonton's power play drops to 0-for-3. Foegele then gets two chances on two separate rushes that are stopped in their tracks by Bobrovsky.

9:22: Draisaitl earns a cross-checking call against Same Bennett after initiating the contact first before taking a twig to the back. Edmonton is 0-for-2 so far.

9:36: Janmark is the latest Oiler to be denied on a breakaway by Bobrovsky, this time with back pressure as the Swede had his low effort stopped beneath the right pad of the netminder before a scrum ensues off Connor Brown's attempt to push it over the line. Two pairs of coincidental roughing penalties are issued.

14:00: Evan Bouchard bats a puck out of mid-air that Bobrovsky stops before Adam Henrique misses a chance in front in a good response by the Oilers after giving up that second goal, but the Florida netminder is proving his worth with an 18-6 shot disadvantage for the Panthers to this point.

17:44: Panthers double the lead. After getting the kill early in the frame, where Hyman was denied in tight by the outstretched pad of Bobrovsky, Florida turns a dump-in into an open chance for Evan Rodrigues that he places over the glove of Skinner. 2-0 Panthers.

20:00: The second period is underway!

Wild to see a period where the 5v5 ice is super tilted against Barkov. Just one FLA shot attempt for with him on the ice, 11 against + a sub-14 expected goals rate, per @NatStatTrick.

The bright side is that the one shot attempt for went in the back of the net.

Good period from the Oilers. Henrique and RNH were stopped by Bobrovsky on breakaways. McDavid was denied in close, too. Shots were 14-4 EDM.

Verhaeghe had the only goal of an odd-man rush. 1-0 FLA.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Panthers lead 1-0 through 20 minutes on Verhaeghe's opening goal despite the Oilers leading in shots 14-4. Edmonton will have 1:51 of power-play time on the other side of the intermission to try and find an equalizer early in the middle frame.

8.8: Verhaeghe high-sticks Bouchard trying to chace down an icing. A late power play for the Oilers!

4:00: Another stellar stop by Bobrovsky on a Nugent-Hopkins power-play breakaway.

5:07: McDavid is pulled down coming through the neutral zone. That'll be the first Oilers power play of the Cup Final!

5:36: Henrique on a breakaway but he's denied by the left pad of Bobrovsky!

9:45: Edmonton gets the crucial early kill to keep it a one-goal game. Stuart Skinner stopped the only shot he saw on the kill, and the streak reaches 29 in a row.

12:27: The Oilers are charged with the first penalty. Mattias Ekholm takes down Kyle Okposo on the inside move in the Panthers' zone.

14:09: McDavid is thwarted on an outside rush by Bobrovsky.

16:01: Panthers open the scoring. After Edmonton dominated to the first whistle, Florida beats the Edmonton forecheck and Carter Verhaeghe finishes off the back-hand feed from Aleksander Barkov on the rush. 1-0 Panthers.

19:34: McDavid knocks down Brbrovsky's attempted pass and forces the Russian netminder into a big early stop against Hyman!

20:00: Let's show them what Edmonton's got. The Stanley Cup Final is underway in Sunrise!

20:00: Welcome to the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. The Edmonton Oilers will be chasing their sixth championship, while the Panthers are looking to win their first Cup and rectify their loss last year to the Vegas Golden Knights. Puck drop is coming up at 6:10 pm MT.
