What the socials are saying in the Oilers' 6-1 win over L.A. in Game 3

X was the place to be for the fallout during the latest instalment of the Western Conference First Round playoff series, which saw the Edmonton Oilers bounce back from an overtime loss in Game 2 with a commanding 6-1 win on the road against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.
While the Oilers were in complete control for the utmost majority of 60 minutes, the Kings didn’t go down without a fight. Literally. And seemed to want more than a few of them as the physicality amped all the way up to 11 in this one.

When the dust settled, the Oilers took a 2-1 series lead, but still have another one to play at Crypto.com Arena in Game 4 Sunday, before returning home to Edmonton.

O.K., this is likely a rally towel as opposed to an actual Kings sweater, but still harkens back to the jersey-tossing days of the Decade of Darkness in Edmonton when it hit the ice Friday at Crypto.com Arena. They say it ain’t over ’til it’s over, but strewn fan fabric can only mean one thing: The beginning of the end.
Oh, and speaking of jerseys …

This one was visually visceral, was it not? There is something about the colour dichotomy here that harkens back to the Gretzky trade all those years ago. Make that the Gretzky sale. And no, some fans here will never get over it.
