Soak up the fun today at iSplash today at Riverside Park

News Today

Today, beat the heat with some free summer fun at Riverside Park.

iSplash is back again this summer, bringing free fun in the sun for free to the park and splash pad, along with a free barbecue as well.

Krista Caswell, community recreation coordinator for the City of Swift Current, is eager to see smiling faces enjoying the chance to cool off while having fun.

"We also will have face painting, other water games, and a lot of other activities for the kids to have fun with," said Caswell.

There will be an inflatable waterslide, slip n slide, and other games available to play. This event is being sponsored by the Innovation Federal Credit Union, enabling the continued growth of the program.

With the splash pad being open alongside the regular park, kids should be able to play as much as they want while keeping cool. Parents are encouraged to make sure their offspring stay hydrated. Free water will be provided by Caswell and her team.

Another important thing will be sunscreen. Kids should have all exposed skin lathered in their preferred SPF, as well as take breaks in the shade between play times. Families are encouraged to bring sun shades like pop-up gazebos and tents to ensure everyone can get out of the sun.

"It's going to be very, very hot," said Caswell. "Luckily the park does have some shade, but we definitely recommend if people do have sun shades to definitely bring them, bring your hats, and bring water bottles."

The fun begins at 10 a.m. and runs through to 3 p.m. There is no entry fee and no limit to the amount of kids allowed to come out and play.
