Navratri 2022 Day 2: Navratri days are considered to be the most powerful days and Chaitra Navratri holds a great religious and spiritual significance. Devotees offer prayers to the Goddess Durga with devotion and dedication. People celebrate Navratri in different ways and they perform many religious activities during these 9 days. Navratri Day 2 Maa Brahmcharini: Significance
The second day is dedicated to the Goddess Brahmcharini. She is known to be the Goddess of penance. Goddess Brahmcharini wear white colour saree. She holds kamandal in her left hand and rosary in right hand. It is believed that those who offer prayers with full devotion, she bless her devotees with wisdom and knowledge. Goddess Brahmcharini is also known as Devi Yogni and Devi Tapasvini.
Navratri Day 2 Maa Brahmacharini: Importance
Goddess Brahmcharini is the goddess of Sacral Chakra (Swadhishthana Chakra) and she leads planet Mars (Mangal). By observing fast and offering prayers to the Goddess on this auspicious day, devotees can get strength, power, energy and happiness. She is graceful, serene and calm form of the Goddess who is full of wisdom, knowledge, dedication, love and loyalty.
As per astrology, people who are suffering from mangal dosha, are advsied to observe fast and worship Maa Brahmcharini with great devotion or they can get their Mangalik Puja done on this day to get rid of Mangal Dosha.

Navratri Day 2 Maa Brahmacharini: Story
According to the mythology, Maa parvati took birth as the daughter of Himalaya and she strictly penanced to get marry to Lord Shiva. She survived only on fruits and flowers for a thousand of years and only herbs for one hundred years then she lived for three thousand years by eating only broken leaves of bilva Patra (Lord Shiva's most favourite herb)
She even stopped eating bilva leaves and started penance without water and food for another thousands of years and she became so weak because of her strict penance. Saptrishi, all other deities got worried by seeing this situation of Goddess and blessed the Goddess by saying that all her wishes will be fulfilled and she will definitely get Lord Chandramouli Shiva as her husband. Due to her strict penance, Goddess Parvati named as Brahmcharini and Aparna.
Navratri Day 2 Maa Brahmacharini: Puja Vidhi
1. On this day, devotees wake up early in the morning and take a holy bathe.
2. People wear nice clean clothes and light a diya with desi ghee.
3. Offer red colour flowers or garland (Rose), vermillion and offer shringaar items.
4. Devotees must offer kheer and homemade sweets to the Goddess.
5. One must chant Goddess Brahmcharini Mantra and recite Durga Saptashati Paath.
6. Those, who are unable to recite Durga Saptashati, they can recite Durga Chalisa.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।

नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

"Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Brahmcharini Rupen Sansthita..!

Namastasyay Namastasyay Namastasyay Namo Namah..!!"

दधाना कर पद्माभ्याम अक्षमाला कमण्डलू।

देवी प्रसीदतु मई ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा।।
ॐ देवी ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः॥

"Dadhana Kara Padmabhyamakshamala Kamandalu..!

Devi Prasidatu Mayi Brahmcharinyanuttama..!!"
