Morgan Wallen took the stage alongside two of his best buddies, HARDY and ERNEST, during the 49th annual New York Honors Gala as they paid tribute to Big Loud's Partner/CEO, Seth England.

The Gala serves as the main fundraiser of the year for the T. J. Martell Foundation, which works towards discovering treatments and cures for various forms of cancer.

The three frequent collaborators performed an array of highlights from across their respective discographies, but one track in particular will undoubtedly pique the interest of fans.

Eschewing his trademark ball-cap in favour of a black cowboy hat, Morgan treated the crowd at Cipriani 42nd Street in the Big Apple to an acoustic rendition of ‘Love Somebody’.

The ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter has been teasing the unreleased track throughout his recent run of European shows, with Morgan confirming the long-awaited ‘Love Somebody’ will be arriving on streaming platforms soon.

Just this week, Morgan Wallen made ’Love Somebody’ available to pre-save on his website, with many speculating that he'll drop the infectious, pop-infused track on Friday, to coincide with the first of his two momentous homecoming shows at Knoxville's Neyland Stadium.

This newly shared stripped-back take on ‘Love Somebody’ accentuates the intricacy and vulnerability of the lyrics, which are usually shrouded in a deceptively uptempo, feel-good synth-based instrumental for the studio version. It finds Morgan Wallen crooning forlornly about how he wishes he could find someone that will offer him something a little more substantial than “just a crazy night”.

In addition to ‘Love Somebody’, Morgan performed acoustic versions of hits such as ’Last Night’, ’I Had Some Help’, ‘Heartless’ and his most recent single, the simmering ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’.

ERNEST duetted with Morgan for ‘I Had Some Help’ and ‘Heartless’, both of which were co-written by ERN, while HARDY serenaded the audience with a stormy performance of Blake Shelton's ’God's Country’. The fiery anthem was one of the country-rock maverick's first big hits as a songwriter, and remains a special song for him.

As the anticipation and conjecture continues to build ahead of Morgan Wallen's Neyland Stadium double-header this weekend, fans are wondering what they can expect from the country megastar's forthcoming studio album. Some suspect that Morgan's decision to wear an uncharacteristic cowboy hat during the New York Honors Gala may well be a hint that the project will be his most decidedly ‘country’ yet.

Morgan Wallen, HARDY and ERNEST's performance came as part of a moving toast to the CEO/Partner of their long-time label, Big Loud, Seth England, in honour of England's impact on the music industry and his sustained support of the T.J. Martell Foundation. The organisation has promoted and funded cancer research for almost five decades.
