Metallica fever has hit Edmonton as fans prepare for the rock legends at Commonwealth Stadium Friday, and the city is warning of traffic and pedestrian delays in the area.
Edmontonians can expect road closures on Stadium Road between 92 Street and 112 Avenue beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, city police said in a Friday news release.
Police will then close Stadium Road again at 11 p.m. after the concert, and it will remain closed until all concert goers have left the area.

There will be detours until the concert traffic dies down, at which point police will re-open the road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area or look for alternate routes during these closures.
“We also remind concert goers to enjoy the show respectfully and responsibly,” police said. “Please ensure you have a safe and sober ride home.”
