Margot Robbie Had a Playful Interpretation of the Little Black Dress

preview for The Most Outrageous Met Gala Looks

Sophistication and whimsy seem to be the reigning themes of Margot Robbie's 2023 Met Gala looks.

The Barbie star and Chanel ambassador first appeared on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's famed carpeted steps in a magnificent black gown with a sheer corset bodice from the French fashion house's 1993 Haute Couture collection. But, for the Gala's after-party, she changed into something a bit more playful.

Robbie opted for a fun interpretation of the little black dress via a strapless sequined black mini with thick white trim on the neckline and hem. The dress also included white sequins that zig-zagged across the piece in horizontal stripes. She accessorized the party look simply, wearing strappy black peep-toe heels and carrying a black-and-white Chanel box bag with a woven chain strap.

Robbie's Met Gala looks round off a bout of fashionable appearances that she has recently made in the midst of her Barbie promo tour.

Just days before the Gala, the actor channeled her Mattel doll character at Las Vegas's CinemaCon, where she appeared alongside costar Ryan Gosling. For the occasion, she wore a bubblegum pink-and-white gingham Prada set, consisting of a wrap miniskirt and a bralette with scalloped black trim across the bust. She accessorized the outfit minimally, finishing it off with baby pink pee-toe heels from Christian Louboutin, a gold Chanel anklet, and drop earrings.

Per photos captured from outside the event, Robbie continued the monochromatic pink theme in a long coat with the matching gingham pattern, plus a mini pink Prada purse and a pair of black oval sunglasses.
