Manchester United Finalize Marcel Sabitzer Loan Deal After ...

Bayern Munich's Marcel Sabitzer boarded a plane to England on transfer deadline day.

The Austria midfielder's destination was Manchester United for a last-minute loan deal.

Sabitzer's loan move will come with an option to buy at the end of the season.

United's move for Sabitzer came after it was revealed that Christian Eriksen could be out until the final month of the Premier League season with an ankle injury.

A United statement earlier on Tuesday had read: "While investigations are continuing, initial assessments indicate that Eriksen is likely to be out until late April or early May.

"Eriksen's absence will be a big disappointment to manager Erik ten Hag and fans given the consistency of his performances throughout the season so far.

"However, there is hope that Christian can return in time to play a role in the final stages of the season."

Eriksen has featured in 31 matches for United this season, while Sabitzer has played in 24 games for Bayern Munich.

United were reportedly offered deals to sign former Real Madrid midfielder Isco and Atletico's Saul Niguez after news of Eriksen's injury broke.

But United did not pursue either because Sabitzer was the man they wanted.
