Several batches of the popular granola bar brand MadeGood have been recalled by its parent company over concerns that the bars may contain metal fragments.

Riverside Natural Foods Inc. has recalled several varieties of its MadeGood granola bars over concerns that the bars may contain metal fragments. (Riverside Natural Foods Inc.)

Several batches of the popular granola bar brand MadeGood have been recalled by its parent company over concerns that the bars may contain metal fragments.

Riverside Natural Foods Inc., which owns MadeGood, listed the following products in a recall announced Monday:

Chocolate banana granola bars; chocolate chip granola bars; chocolate chip mini granola bars; mixed berry granola bars; cookies & creme granola bars; strawberry granola bars; and the MadeGood variety pack. Chocolate-drizzled birthday cake granola bars; chocolate-drizzled vanilla granola bars; chocolate-drizzled cookie crumble granola bars; and the chocolate-drizzled granola bars variety pack.

The recalled products were made between January and November 2024 and were distributed throughout Canada, the U.S. and other countries, according to the company announcement, which was posted on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's website.

CBC News has reached out to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The company said in its announcement that it identified and fixed the source of the issue in its manufacturing process. The recall is a precautionary measure and no injuries have been reported, it added.

Refunds will be honoured at the retailer where the products were purchased, according to a recall notice on the MadeGood website.
