I Didn't Expect This Former Lions' QB's Kid to Be Such a Massive ...
The Detroit Lions are off to a great start this season. They're doing so well, in fact, that many experts and sports pundits are projecting that the Lions will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
But, success is not something that long-time Lions fans are used to. The Lions were so bad at one point that in 2008 they set an NFL record that no team wants to set - they were the first NFL team ever to go 0-16.
????CHECK IT OUT: Best Nicknames of Detroit Lions Players Past and Present ????These days, the tone has changed in Detroit, in Michigan, and frankly, all across the country. There's no more talk of the "Same Old Lions" who would somehow always find a way to lose. Last season, the Lions won their division for the first time since 1991 (only to lose in the Conference Championship game to the San Francisco 49ers.) And at every Lions game, even the away games, you look into the stands to see a sea of Honolulu blue and chants of "JAR-ED GOFF!"

During the November 10 Sunday Night Football game, I discovered something that I never expected - one of the Lions' most infamous quarterbacks shared on X (formerly Twitter) that his son is (apparently) a pretty big fan of the Detroit Lions.

Remember Joey Harrington? Harrington (called "Joey Blue Skies" by some) was drafted third in the 2002 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. Many Lions fans expected Harrington, who had formerly played for the Oregon Ducks, to be the team's savior. Sadly, that didn't end up being the case, and Harrington was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2006.
So imagine my surprise when I saw a social media post from him on Sunday night during the Lions-Texans game about his son's fandom. He quipped, "So you know - the whole 'didn't have it on my Bingo card thing'..." We didn't have it on ours, either, Joey.
It turns out that even now, after being out of the league for 15 years, the 46-year-old former QB still has that affable personality that so many people loved about him.
Could it be because of the five times that the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans have played each other ever, the only time that they had previously beaten them was when Joey Harrington was the Lions' quarterback?
Detroit Lions Fans React to Joey Harrington's Son Being a Lions FanFans (and non-fans) were quick to jump into his replies to share their thoughts.

One fan, who goes by Mannyplus44 on X, proudly showed off the fact that he still owns a Harrington Lions jersey (as do I!), and Harrington was quick to fire back a warning.
And when a concerned Lions fan replied at some point during the first half that he was worried that the team was being outcoached in the game against the Texans, Harrington had some words of advice.
Joey Harrington may not have had the super successful career with the Lions that many fans had hoped for, but in the end, it seems, he still has love for the Motor City and his former team.
