It seems that Linus Tech Tips are facing massive scrutiny from the community after a video was circulated highlighted inaccuracies and several ethical concerns, one of which was the auctioning of a prototype item which they didn’t even own.
And former Linus Media Group employee Madison Reeve took to Social Media to post a thread which only served to highlight their experience and the culture of the company.

What’s happened at Linus Tech Tips? The community has responded to the controversy regarding Linus Tech TipsIn the video which is currently doing the rounds, there was also mention of workplace conditions which led to members of staff making mistakes or leading to the creation of inaccurate content. Linus addressed this in a lengthy statement on a LTT forum post.
And he followed up by stating that he was ‘saddened’ that so many had appeared with their pitch-forks to condemn the company;
“With thousands helping circulate the video and countless more lashing out on social media, he described the situation as “disheartening seeing how many people were willing to jump on us. Believe it or not, I’m a real person and so is the rest of my team. We are trying our best, and if what we were doing was easy, everyone would do it.”

The atmosphere at Linus was said to be ‘toxic’ from former empoyeeBut it was the social media post from former employee Madison Reeve which proves to be the most scathing. Reeve advised that they would not recommend anyone working there, given their experiences. Recalling that they were once referred to as ‘incompetent’ and after seeking aid with a problem, was rebuked and told to be ‘more assertive’.
But it gets worse. As Madison Reeve recalls that they were also subject to inappropriate touching in the office, subject to inappropriate sexual comments and met with many sexist remarks. Further to this, Reeve also claimed that the company took umbrage with them taking sick days which unfortunately culminated in them being driven to self-harm.
Unsurprisingly the community have taken to Social Media to give their views on the news regarding Linus Tech Tips;
“what a horrible company. linus should be fined.”
“Damn, I looked up to Linus. He literally taught me everything I know about PCs.. and you’re telling me my intuition was correct GOD F**KING DAMN IT.”
However, not everyone appeared to be critical of Linus. One fan felt that it had been blown out of proportion;
“Linus & ltt video… good people made a few mistakes that snowballed, not monsters nor whatever Gamers Nexus portrayed them as. Mistakes yes, but it’s also been a pile on session, the internet loves to make a villain whenever possible.”
