Social media and its ability to launch retaliation is well-documented. This can be seen through the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in America or the #MeToo movement that allowed victims of sexual harassment to speak up. Safe to say social media has the ability to cater to an audience whether it is for the collective good or bad.
Laura Loomer is one such user who is trying to build an opposition within America against immigrants who enter the country. Her hatred stems from the H1B visa, that allows United States employers to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. Some of her most popular tweets are against, X (formerly twitter) owner, Elon Musk and the Indian migrants coming to America.
In one of her posts on X, Laura mentioned that Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by Vivek Ramaswamy and Musk, is a vanity project that is a way to redirect funds to pet projects of tech pro billionaires. After another user brought this to attention, Musk replied that “Laura is trolling for attention. Ignore”.

While Laura stands against the idea of immigration, she seems to have an utter hatred for Indians, evident in several of her tweets. When Musk tweeted that AI will take over tech support bigtime in 2025, Laura seemed questioned by the statement. She made her query known by replying to Musk saying, “If that’s the case, then why do we need to import Indians into America?

Laura did not stop there however, as she tweeted another picture depicting the Indian map. On which she mentioned the average IQ in India is 76. “Best and brightest”@realDonaldTrump, raising concerns on Trump’s plan to continue his alliance with Elon Musk.

The Trump and Musk alliance was favoured by many Make America Great Again (MAGA)/ Trump supporters. However, ever since the election concluded, a question hangs at whether the alliance is best suited for the future of America. Furthermore, will continuing this alliance fuel the already growing animosity between America and its immigrants?
