Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens today in what expects to be a thrilling fixture considering what's at stake and how close these two teams could be to influencing each other's fate in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL).

The hosts come into this game having won two of three last three games, which has propelled them to sixth spot in the table with 10 points from 11 games.

Meanwhile, the visitors are lacking confidence at the moment, losing three games on the bounce to fall outside the playoffs spots. They are currently fifth in the table, level on points with KKR but with a superior net run rate.

KKR and RR have produced one of the most closely-contested head-to-head ties in IPL.

Opened in 1864, Eden Gardens had a seating capacity of over one lakh, before it was trimmed down to 63000 ahead of the 2011 World Cup.

The match will take place on pitch #4, making it the fourth IPL match to be played there this year.
