The contract was only for a day, but Reeves didn't just pen his name to that. He also signed some hockey jerseys and posed for the camera.

The jerseys and other items will be auctioned off to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County.

The visit fulfilled Reeves' childhood dream of becoming a hockey star.

In his teens, Reeves tried out for as a Spitfires goalie prospect for an OHL team while living in Toronto. He didn't get to play because of an injury.

Spitfires General Manager Bill Bowler, who is also a former manager of the Chatham Maroons, and Reeves have another connection. They attended the same Catholic high school in Toronto, although Reeves was a few years ahead of Bowler.

His first movie role was playing a teenage goalie trying to make it to the NHL. "Youngbloods" also starred Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze.

Tickets for the upcoming Spitfires season go on sale on Saturday and training camp starts next week.

Reeves is also known for roles in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," "The Matrix" and "John Wick."
