Katy Perry Announces New Single 'Woman's World'
Katy Perry is ready to "pop off."
The superstar announced she will release her long-awaited comeback single "Woman's World" on July 11 at 7:00PM EST. The next day she will follow up with the video, which she posted a teaser for on her socials.
Variety reports that the 39-year-old singer recently held a listening session for her yet-to-be-announced sixth album, which signals that it is done and on the way.
Now that Perry is set to move on from her judging role on American Idol, she will have time to return to her pop career. Her last album, Smile was released in 2020, and since then she has released two singles: "Electric" from Pokémon 25: The Album and "When I'm Gone," a collaboration with Alesso.
In April, Perry shared that her next single was co-written by Toronto's own Lu Kala. Judging by Kala's response to "Woman's World," it sure seems like she was involved. "Woooow, I just died & came back to life???????? I’m sooo excited for this new Katy Era!!!!" she wrote in her retweet of Perry's announcement.
