PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Former Rutgers baseball infielder Chris Brito signed with the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He becomes the third player from the 2023 team to sign with a major league organization, joining Ryan Lasko (Oakland) and Drew Conover (Oakland). 

One of the most accomplished hitters in program history, Brito wrapped up his career "On the Banks" this spring as the all-time leader in career home runs (46) and runs batted in (200). Brito also set the school single-season record with 74 RBIs in 2022. During the 2023 campaign, Brito recorded his 200th career hit, becoming the 19th player in RU history to reach the milestone and joined Lasko as the first players in program history with three consecutive seasons of double-digit home runs.
