PHILADELPHIA — Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson reached another milestone Thursday.

Playing in just his 52nd game, the star receiver became the fastest player to 5,000 career receiving yards, passing Odell Beckham Jr., who did so in 54 games.

Jefferson hit the milestone during a 4-yard reception late in the second quarter to convert a third-and-1, putting him at 5,002.

It wasn't long before he added another 30 yards, but the ball was knocked out of his hand at the 1. Officials initially ruled the ball traveled outside the pylon before crossing the goal. A review, however, reversed the call, showing the ball traveled beyond the pylon before going completely out of bounds.

The play resulted in a touchback for Philadelphia, which drove 37 yards in just 34 seconds for a 61-yard field goal. The Eagles took a 13-7 halftime lead.

Jefferson was targeted on Minnesota's first two offensive snaps, pulling in a diving catch for a 15-yard gain and following with a reception in traffic that gained a yard.

Jefferson began his fourth pro season with 4,825 career receiving yards, the most by any player since 2020. He finished Minnesota's Week 1 game with 150 yards, giving him 4,975 on the way into Week 2.
