Julianna Peña is now a two-time women’s bantamweight champion after taking the title from Raquel Pennington in the UFC 307 co-main event.
Peña (11-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) became the second champion of the post-Amanda Nunes era with a split decision victory over Pennington (16-9 MMA, 13-6 UFC) in Saturday’s pay-per-view co-headliner at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
With Kayla Harrison beating Ketlen Vieira earlier in the night, the next challenge for Peña’s belt appears clear.

There’s no way Pena can win a boxing match with Pennington. This will be easy work if the fight stays at this pace. 10-9 Pennington

That lump on Pennington’s forehead is gnarly and I couldn’t really see what it came from. Gonna hurt in the morning though.

Going from Aldo vs Bautista to Pennington vs Peña feels like a punishment #UFC307

Pena is such a terrible striker that Pennington just recorded the first knockdown of her entire UFC career.

10-9 Rocky in R4.
I have it 38-38 heading into the final round.

Big moment for Rocky dropping Pena clean with a right hand. 38-38 going into the final round. #UFC307

Pennington’s game plan and her corner adjustments is ass.
Even if you come in with a boxing game plan. You have to be able to adjust and see the add on attacks, like the leg kicks that Pennington isn’t using. #UFC307

I have it 48-47 Pennington, but that is a close fight.
R2, 3 pretty clear Pena
R4 clear Pennington
R1 and R5 competitive
