Jon Bon Jovi and his team saved the life of a woman when they talked her down from a ledge on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville on Tuesday (September 10).

Bon Jovi was shooting a video for their song "The People’s House" on the public bridge when they noticed a woman standing on the other side of the ledge holding on to its railing.

In a video posted by the Metro Nashville Police Department, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer can be seen walking over to the woman in distress, talking to her and then helping her climb over the ledge to safety, before giving her a hug.

On X, the MNPD applauded Bon Jovi for his actions, writing, "A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety."

According to The Tennessean, Bon Jovi declined to speak to the media following the incident "out of respect for the private citizen who experienced a moment of crisis."

Along with his wife, Dorothea, Bon Jovi founded the JBJ Soul Foundation, which assists people struggling with hunger, poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders.
