Joe Mixon: Child injured amid reports of gunshots at home of ...

Police have searched the home of NFL star Joe Mixon following reports of gunshots at the property in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that a child had been taken to hospital with "non-life threatening injuries" on Monday night following the reports.

Officers searched the house "were able to gather evidence that will be part of this active investigation", they said.

"Our detectives will continue to review this evidence diligently and conduct interviews," the statement continued.

It is unclear whether or how Mixon, 26, is involved, NBC reported.

However, police confirmed that "part of the crime scene involves a home connected to Bengals player Joe Mixon".

The NFL player had charges of aggravated menacing filed and dropped against him last month.
