Steven Stamkos also scored for the Predators, winners of two of three.

Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros made 22 saves.

Adam Lowry scored and Eric Comrie made 32 saves for Winnipeg, which had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Nashville played its first home game after returning from a two-week, five-game road trip where it went 1-2-2.

The Predators had to vacate their Bridgestone Arena home to accommodate the CMA Awards, and they left the Jets singing a hurtin’ song.

Stamkos’ third-period goal came on a Nashville power play. Six of his seven goals on the season have come with the man-advantage, and he has three power-play goals over the last three games.

Just 1:44 after Stamkos scored to give Nashville a 2-1 lead, Marchessault corralled a rebound in the slot and beat Comrie with a wrist shot on the glove side.

Josi’s second goal was an empty-netter.

The Jets were playing the second game of their first back-to-back of the season.

After a day off on Sunday, the Jets face the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul, Minn.

Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg left in the second period because of a lower-body injury after blocking a shot. Multiple reports say Samberg has a broken foot.
