I don’t know for certain that the Cowboys will make a coaching change this offseason (even if that looks overwhelmingly likely). And I don’t know who they’d go after if they do (even if Bill Belichick passes the smell test for what this team believes a great hire looks like).
All I’m saying is, read this quote and tell me you can’t see “Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys Head Coach” as some kind of possibility, because Jerry Jones.

It’s been quite the journey from when I wrote about Witten’s first season back in 2021, when the Warriors were 2-8 and Witten was a rookie head coach finding his way. We’ll see whether that eventually points him to Arlington.
